Kenyans on Twitter have expressed reservations about the safety of instant shower heads many people use.

A Twitter user started the conversation by sharing images and videos of the relatively cheap shower heads, with a warning about the dangers they pose.

One of the videos showed the shower head releasing sparks, with the Tweep stressing the importance of proper installation.

According to the Tweep, substandard cabling can heat up and burn the insulating sheath, exposing the current-carrying wires to the shower water.

Kenyans weighed in on the matter by saying:

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Samuel Kamau, an electrician, noted that the shower heads pose a risk to users when improperly installed.

Kenyans previously shared near-death experiences with instant shower heads.
