He once helped rabbit Catherine Ndereba to the world record in the women's marathon and was part of the greatest dynasty in any NCAA men's sport in Ivy League history (8 straight outright Ivy titles) when he was the coach of the men's distance program at Cornell University for 10 years. He now resides in Baltimore with his wife and son.
