Lufthansa Technik Will Provide Component Support For SmartLynx's Airbus A320s, A330s, & Boeing 737 MAXs

Lufthansa Technik's list of airline partners keeps on growing.

Lufthansa Technik has recently signed a seven-year contract with leading aircraft, crew, maintenance, insurance (ACMI), and cargo and charter services provider SmartLynx Airlines to provide Total Component Support (TCS) for its entire fleet. The newly minted agreement was enacted on May 1st and currently covers more than 60 different aircraft.

Latvia-based SmartLynx Airlines has been experiencing rapid growth within the past few years and is currently focused on excellence and reliability for its various customers. The renewed focus comes after the airline suffered slight difficulties last year due to the lingering post-pandemic and geopolitical impact on supply chains worldwide.

The lack of available spare parts and the continued disruptions made aircraft maintenance challenging, which had consequences on SmartLynx Airlines' ability to lease or charter out flights. Through this new partnership with Lufthansa Technik, the airline aims to optimize its service and achieve improved performance.

Commenting on the anticipated agreement was the Chief Executive Officer of SmartLynx Airlines, Zygimantas Surintas, stating:

"As we gear up for the busy summer season, the safety and comfort of our customers continue to be our top priority. Last year we faced challenges due to spare part availability, and we are fully committed to avoiding any repeat of those difficulties this year. Our new contract with Lufthansa Technik is critical to reaching our goal of optimizing our performance and becoming the world's leading and trusted ACMI airline."

On Lufthansa Technik's part, the signed agreements see that it provides SmarLynx Airlines services such as spare parts pooling and maintenance, repairs, and overhaul for any required components on the airline's entire fleet. This fleet of over 60 aircraft includes Airbus A320s, Airbus A321s, Airbus A330s, and Boeing 737 MAXs.

The engineering company will also use its extensive global supply chain - including the aircraft on the ground support for time-critical components to offer an individual supply concept to SmartLynx Airlines to allow short and fast transport paths.

With a guaranteed seamless flow on the availability of components for smoother and more successful operations, Lufthansa Technik is helping SmartLynx Airlines ensure the highest performance and flexibility for its complex business portfolio. Kai-Stefan Roepke, Vice President Corporate of Sales at Lufthansa Technik, says:

"We are very proud to be the new component provider for SmartLynx Airlines. I want to thank them for their trust in Lufthansa Technik and our state-of-the-art TCS services, which promise excellent quality and assistance for the highest performance."
