It's really difficult for Survivors to win in Dragon Ball: The Breakers, so it's important to know the tricks and strategies needed to win.
In Dragon Ball: The Breakers, players on the Survivor team don't get to play as powerhouses like Goku or Vegeta, they're stuck trying to survive as normal people. The gameplay of Dragon Ball: The Breakers isn't similar to Xenoverse, as it is an asymmetric multiplayer where the players are either a Raider, a powerful bad guy from the Dragon Ball Z world, or a team of seven hapless Survivors, all of them caught in a Temporal Seam. Unlike other Dragon Ball properties where the goal is to kill the enemy, the Survivors need to escape the Raider if they want to win.
Survivors can choose between Oolong, Bulma, the Farmer, and customizable male and female earthlings. To escape the Seam, players need to search for power keys scattered across the map and use them to activate the Super Time Machine and then defend it as it charges up. If that is destroyed, players can try to kill the Raider or escape by hitching a ride on the single regular time machine. The Raider is one of Dragon Ball's best villains, so the Survivors should focus on escaping.

The tools given to the Survivors in Dragon Ball: The Breaks are their skills, their Change Gauge, their teammates, the Power Keys, and of course, the titular Dragon Balls. When and how to use them is situational, so it's best to learn when and how to use them.
It can be tempting to move around the map faster with skills like the Kaioken or the Nimbus, but not only do those skills make the player easier to notice, they can't be used while on cooldown. Given how Raiders in Dragon Ball: The Breakers can destroy the map piece by piece and kill Survivors they've found with a few hits, saving skills to get out of danger is an essential strategy.
The best skills for a Survivor to take are the Grappling Hook, the Saiyan Pod, and the Change Missile for mobility. Grappling Hook is a great way to quickly reposition and hide, and the Saiyan Pod and Change Missile can quickly get the Survivor out of an area. This is great for when the Raider is destroying an area. Stun abilities like the Solar Flare or Kaioken are also good options for players to buy time for themselves and their teammates.
Like playing a Survivor in Dead by Daylight, sometimes sticking together or providing immediate aid isn't the best strategy, however counter-intuitive it may seem. Raiders can and will leave downed Survivors as bait, lurking nearby and waiting for others to come and try and rescue their teammate. Of course, this means that the Raider isn't playing toward their objectives, so smart ones won't stick around too long.

To rescue a teammate, Survivors should work together, having some of them distract the Raider while others go in to revive. If this doesn't work, it might be better to abandon their downed teammate and go for the Dragon Balls and Power Key. This isn't a completely heartless strategy, as again, much like Dead by Daylight, putting pressure on the objectives will force the Raider to move on.
It cannot be overemphasized how important the Power Keys and Dragon Balls are. Scouring each map section for their keys will allow the Super Time Machine to be activated and powered up. If all the keys have been found, it's vital to have someone power it up while the others distract, and maybe even hurt, the Raider. Then there's the Dragon Balls.
If the Survivors collect all seven Dragon Balls and place them in the shrine, they can summon Shenron and gain powerful transformations. This makes fighting the Raider possible but also denies the Dragon Ball: The Breaker's Raider an easy win, as any Ball possessed by the Survivors is not possessed by the Raider.
Sometimes the best defense is a good offense, which the Change Gauge briefly gives to Survivors. This gauge, charged with Change Cubes littered all over the map, briefly turns the Survivor into one of Dragon Ball's many heroes who can hurt and damage the Raider. Like Skills, the Change should be saved when needed, as it allows the Survivors to distract the Raider from teammates, hurt them with special moves and attacks, or fly away quickly if all else has failed. Dragon Ball: The Breakers' Transpheres can be useful, even if they're gacha.

However, all that advice about saving things for when they are needed doesn't apply right away. In Dragon Ball: The Breakers, the Raider has four Forms they progress through as the game goes on, and as is typical, their 1st Form is their weakest one. The Survivors will know when the Raider progresses to their Second Form; until then, they should move as fast as possible to get as much as possible. Use skills, run around in the open while picking up Change cubes, and throw stealth into the wind. Maybe even attack the Raider.
This is less true against a Frieza versus Dragon Ball: The Breakers' other Raiders. Friezes' 1st form is aided by both Dodoria and Zarbon, which can put caught out Survivors in difficult fights if caught out. This can be balanced if the Survivors can charge their Change Gauge quickly enough, but like the other Raiders, Frieza's 1st form lasts only a few minutes.
The best way to play against a Raider is to know how the Raider will think. What strategies will they use, focus on, and how dangerous are they in their current form? Knowing all these things puts the Survivor in the mindset of the Raider, and by having that mindset, they can anticipate and adapt to their opponent. This strategy has always held true for other asymmetric multiplayer games, like Evolve and Dead by Daylight, which Dragon-Ball: The Breakers resembles. Learn how to be the Raider, and the player can beat the Raider.
